Just as the name; Zanzibar evokes dreams of romance and mystery and the reality will not disappoint the traveler bored with mass tourism and seeking an enlightening and enjoyable holiday experience. Zanzibar (the name includes the main island, Uguja and Pemba) has for centuries attracted seafarers and adventures from around the world.
Now it welcomes a new generation of explorers – those who have come to marvel at the rich heritage, reflected in the architecture and the culture of the people. For this is where Arabian meets Africa.
MultiPark Excursions offers you the unique opportunity to Visit Zanzibar’s historic stone town, where the sultans once ruled. Relax on one of the 25 dazzling white palm-fringed beaches, where the azure waters of the Indian Ocean beckon swimmers, divers, fishermen and water sport enthusiasts alike.
Stone town tour:
This tour gives you the opportunity to visit a variety of areas in the historic Stone town, such as the "House of Wonder", an old slave market, the local market and other historical sites on Zanzibar. This is a driving and walking tour lasting around 3 hours.
Spice Tour:
Zanzibar has long been known as the "Spice Island." Our spice tour visits many of the local spice farms. At the farms, you see how spices are made and have the opportunity to sample local dishes. These tours are led by local farmers giving the tour a unique perspective of the island and its inhabitants.
Dolphin Safari:
This tour originates on the south coast of Zanzibar in the Kizimkazi area. While there you snorkel with the dolphins . On the return trip to Stone Town you have opportunity to visit an old mosque dated 12th century and natural underground spring (Miza).
Jozani Forest:
This tour offers a unique opportunity to observe one the rarest and highly endangered monkeys in East Africa, the red Colobous monkey. This particular sub-species of red Colobous monkey is endemic to Jozani Forest. After observing these animals a visit to "ZALA PARK" (Zanzibar Land Animals Park) is possible. The tour duration is 2-3 hrs and usually conducted either after breakfast or after lunch.
Nungwi (Paradise Beach):
A visit to this picturesque beach may incline you spend countless days sunbathing or just waste the day away. Bring lots of sunscreen. Countless beach activities are awaiting you such as diving, swimming, snorkeling and a beach barbecue at Nungwi.
ITINERARIES:
Option 1.
CITY TOUR (STONE TOWN TOUR – 3 HRS)
This gives you an opportunity to visit historical sites by either driving or walking.
Your guided to tours such as David Livingstone’s House of wonder, Palace museum, National Museum, Slave Market, Central Market and walking around the streets where you do your shopping for antiques and souvenirs.
Option 2.
SHORT SPICE TOUR 4 HOURS
The tour start around 9:00 a.m. driving to the North of Zanzibar, where the spaces and fruits such as cardamom, cinnamon, black pepper, nutmeg, cloves, pineapples, mango steam, avocado, cumin and many others grow.
Option 3.
LONG SPICE TOUR (7 HOURS)
You may decide after the short spice tour and after lunch to proceed to North West of Zanzibar, Mwangapwani slave caves and chambers where slaves were kept after their long sail from different parts of African continent ready for auctioning at St. Monica cathedral church. Then lastly you’ll be taken back to your hotel.
Option 4.
PRISON ISLAND TOUR – (UNLIMTED TIME)
The tour starts at your hotel around 9:00 a.m. Driving to the harbor where you board a boat destined to prison Island (CHANGU). Here you will enjoy snorkeling on the coral reefs and sunbathing on the beach. It is here you will find and play with giant and small tortoises and see preserved peacocks in the small forest. You are then taken back to your hotel at prison Island. There are two restaurants where you can take lunch.
Option 5
JOZANI MONKEY FOREST TOURS – (UNLIMITED TIME)
This is an early morning tour to give you an opportunity to see monkeys. You are driven from Stone Town to Jozani monkey forest a drive that takes between 45 minutes to 1 hour. With the help of Jozani conservation guides you will be guided through different tracks to the forest where you will come across colobus monkeys. You’ll then be driven back to your hotel.
Option 6
DOLPHIN TOURS – (UNLIMITED TIME)
This is also an early morning tour or late in the evening. You are driven from your hotel to Kizimkazi at the South coast of Zanzibar the only home for dolphins. It is a one hour drive. An outboard engine is used for excursion. You can also swim and play friendly with the dolphins. Meals are taken at the shore restaurant.
ZANZIBAR
Travel between Dar es Salaam and Zanzibar: Daily flights are operated by air Tanzania from Dar es Salaam to Zanzibar and several other privately owned services. There are many ferries, including hydrofoils. Schedules are given at the booking offices near the main passenger port in Dar es Salaam. Tickets are sold there as well.
