Located on the far end of Western Serengeti, atop a hill with sweeping views of the surrounding plains, Kirawira Camp is a unique blend of Victorian and African craftsmanship, combining the adventure and the excitement of the pioneering African with the essential luxuries required by today’s discerning traveller. 

NUMBER OF ROOMS & DESCRIPTION:
With only 25 double tents, it is an exclusive experience.  The essentially colonial ambiance of the tented-rooms evokes colourful memories of the famous safaris of days gone by, when such romantic figures as Teddy Roosevelt and Edward, Prince of Wales indulged in lavish East African shooting safaris of unrivalled elegance. Each room has a personal valet and has been accommodated in a spacious canvas tent, erected on raised platforms of rope-lashed logs and sheltered by a bush-thatch roof.The décor is a clever blend of classic opulence and camp practicality featuring generous four-poster beds, hand-made patchwork quilts, steamer-trunk wardrobes, brass lamps, sepia photographs and rosewood escritoires, whilst to the rear of each tent is an elegant mahogany-panelled bathroom with twin marble washstands, polished brass fittings and classic black-and-white tiled Edwardian shower and lavatory.

RESTAURANTS & BAR:
In keeping with the theme of colonial opulence, the elegant dining tents feature Edwardian-styled dining furniture, sprung floors, crisp-starched napery, delicate blue and white china and weighty silver accoutrements, whilst the staff are attired in classical colonial & uniform of white Swahili robes and turbans.

OTHER FACILITIES & SERVICES:
The Camp has a swimming pool. The word "Safari" means "journey" in Kiswahili but since the days of the legendary "White Hunters" a "Safari" has evolved to mean a spectacular bush adventure that takes in sightings of a glorious selection of game, flora, fauna and bird life whilst delivering awe inspiring scenery, show-stopping views and wildlife encounters of the most exciting kind. Serena Safaris operate a fleet of safari-adapted Land Rovers. Each of our individually-tailored tours is led by an experienced guide. Picnics, mineral water, cool boxes and bush libraries are also provided.
